New Car FAQs
Q. Why does my car need protecting?
A. When you receive a brand new car, you expect it to be flawless from top to bottom, inside and out, after all you have just paid a lot of money for it! In most cases, a car is the second largest financial commitment we make in our lifetimes besides a home.
Q. My car doesn’t need polishing, it’s brand new!
A. Unfortunately this isn’t the case! Over the years we have witnessed many brand new cars that are covered in defects, mostly caused by the dealerships prepping them for your collection. So before you’ve even collected it, you car has received damage to its paintwork.*
The example below shows a wing mirror of a BMW M2 with only 6 miles on the clock, however it still has damage inflicted by the prepping process. The mirror on the left shows swirl marks caused by the dealership, the mirror on the right shows it after we corrected the damage.
*When purchasing your new car, we strongly recommend that you make an agreement with the dealership to supply the car to you with the transport film still on, this way you can remove the film and you will know that it hasn’t been washed. This will mean less polishing (and less cost) when it comes to us.
Q. Can my dealership apply a ceramic coating?
A. Dealerships will often try to sell you paint protection when you purchase the car, these can go by many names - Supaguard, Guardex, Lifeshine etc. We have seen many occasions where these were paid for but were never applied, or if they were applied don’t last as long as they tell you. In addition, the majority of dealership coatings are not actual ceramic coatings therefore wont last as long.
